Sober homes are designed to help those in recovery achieve their goal of long-term sobriety.  There are many different styles of sober homes to choose from, and each home provides something different.  At Royal Sober Homes, we offer residences you can call home.  We understand the importance of the variety of recovery programs available, and we encourage individuals to do whatever it takes to remain sober and healthy.  We embrace resident individuality and choice, but, after many years of operating sober homes, the following philosophical values and guidelines have shown us, time after time, that working the 12 steps and adopting the principles related to our anonymous fellowship are what will set the foundation for long-term sobriety and promise a new way of life.

Our Philosophy

Here at Royal Sober Homes, our behavioral requirements are straightforward.  Stay sober, be honest, transparent and respectful, communicate, and demonstrate personal accountability.  The overall safety and well-being of the home’s residents is always the highest priority.  Any behavior jeopardizing the sobriety and/or safety of another resident will not be tolerated.  If a resident’s behavior goes against our values and the home’s safety is threatened, that can and will lead to permanent discharge or the requirement of returning to inpatient treatment to be considered for a return in the future.

The following behavior policies are non-negotiable and will result in discharge from the residence:

  • No alcohol or drug use

  • No abuse of personal medication

  • No manipulation of the substance testing process and/or specimen sample

  • No lying, cheating, stealing of any kind

  • No physical fighting, verbal threats or bullying

  • No weapons of any kind

House Policies

The following are a few examples of basic behaviors that are required and expected from all residents on a daily basis.  Personal accountability, responsibility, communication and respect are necessary to continue growing as an individual and strengthening your recovery.

  • Actively work on your recovery in a 12-step or other approved recovery program

  • Attend the mandatory weekly house meeting to check-in and share your recovery progress that week

  • Complete your assigned chore(s) every day

  • Out of bed by 9:00AM, make your bed and start your day

  • Clean up after yourself and leave the room better than you found it

  • Be on-time for nightly curfew

  • Hold yourself accountable for your behaviors and decisions

  • Respect the individuality of others and their background understanding we all have a history and must be tolerant and accepting of all
